This Saturday Spotlight series showcases the participants of the Kim to Zim Outreach Group.
Q: How did you get started in powerlifting?
A: I started 5 years ago. As a teenager and into adulthood I tried every diet pill and exercise program around (mainly cardio based), but it was not until I discovered strength training and then eventually powerlifting that I truly began to change. This change was not only physical but was also mental. Powerlifting has truly changed my life, and I can go as far as saying it saved my life too.
Q: What is your favorite lift and why?
A: Deadlift becasue it's my strongest lift and needs least technique corrections at the moment.
Q: How has strength training impacted your life?
A: Strength training has changed not only my physical, but also my mental strength. It has also empowered me to try new things and has given me the opportunity to help others discover strength training as a beneficial means to improve overall mental and physical wellness.
Q: What motivated you to want to be a part of the Kim to Zim Outreach Trip?
A: I have a genuine interest in helping others gain physical and mental strength, as well as empower and work alongside people who don't have the means and or equipment to do so.
