MEET KNOX
Knox works as a security guard, and often speaks to how his lifting has contributed to current job obtainment despite the high unemployment rate in Zimbabwe.
Knox initially started lifting weights due to the fact that he wanted to be a professional bodybuilder, but has since started powerlifting. He is one of the most dedicated gym goers in the Glen Norah community, and lifts 6 times a week for 2-3 hours a day.
This 34 year old recently competed at the first ever powerlifting competition that was recently held in his local community centre, where he took first place! In the future he wants to play a leadership role and inspire and guide the "youngsters" in the community within powerlifting, and in mid-July took the first steps towards this by becoming a certified coach under the Zimbabwe Powerlifting Federation.
We look forward to all the the big things (and big benches!) this 105kg Male Open lifter will bring with him lifting in South Africa at Commonwealths, as well as beyond back to his community.
